Distinctive colour is used in the public and semi-public zones of this former GDR plattenbau that has been renovated into an office block. The eight common rooms visible on the façade were each given a particular colour, complementing the predominantly white building, and establishing a multi-colour palette for the project. In the interior, the colours of the meeting rooms act as orientation points and provide distinct atmospheric qualities. Black and white were added to the eight-colour palette for wall-paintings located on the foyer of each floor. The diagonal motif of these patterns is picked up in the design of the public stairway handrails, celebrating a common detail with bright colour and dynamic pattern. In contrast, the two main ground level entrances are predominantly black, with glossy walls and a matte ceiling to enhance the proportions, a neutral entry to a colourfuly composed building.
