Notes on Form
2013
032C, Berlin, Germany
Curated by Carson Chan for 032C Berlin, Germany
Pedestals of varying heights present a series of artworks for exhibition in the 032C Workshop’s eight-meter-long vitrine (designed by Konstantin Grcic). The typical rectilinear nature of the pedestal form is transformed by a very specific blue-green tone that complements 032C magazine’s eponymous orange-red, taken from the Pantone system. The unexpected colour of the pedestals balances ‘depth’ with brightness and allows the simple system to attain a unique visual and spatial dimension, both aesthetic and structural.
